Intended Use

Virtuoso - multi-function harmonized controller workstation for air and surface traffic monitoring, control, coordination, and optimization, including arrival and departure queuing and traffic flow management applications.

A harmonized controller workstation represents an airport surface and terminal area air traffic display system that displays data provided by ATM surveillance and through the data communications, including downlink, and is intended for providing Air and Surface Traffic Services within terminal maneuvering area.

Technical Solutions

Displayed information is operated by touching the screen with a touch pen or fingers. Workstation is intended for traffic monitoring and control applications based on packaging the surveillance data and displaying the same as a synthesized 3D traffic model.

Comprehensive data processing for 3D traffic model display, acquisition applications, air traffic identification and display of information on the workstation’s screen without necessity to provide for the direct visual observation of the terminal surface.

Virtuos solves the following tasks:
  • Ensuring control, management or regulation of aircraft and vehicles traffic within the aerodrome maneuvering area
  • Streamlining an orderly flow of arriving and departing aircraft
  • Preventing potential conflicts related to violation of safe separation between aircraft or deviation from the guided path
  • Enabling ramp management
  • Coordinating services that ensure operational activity of the aerodrome and the airport
  • Monitoring aircraft operation in uncontrolled airspace (without CTL)
