Purpose:

Aeronavigator is used to increase flight safety in case of adverse weather conditions encounter during the flights within the terrain with obstacles and landings at non-equipped fields or fields chosen from the air.

Closed cycle of flight operations:
Aeronavigator consists of:
  • A tablet computer with touch screen (which meets the requirements of MIL-810F)
  • Satellite navigation receiver (GLONASS+NAVSTAR)
  • Micromechanical inertial sensors (gyroscopes and accelerometers)
  • Magnetometers
  • Static-pressure sensors
  • An adapter for onboard power

This system represents an autonomous additional equipment which can be easily installed at any aircraft, which can operate during 2 hours and provide safe flight interruption in case of failure of all aircraft equipment.

An improvement of a dimensional orientation can be achieved by representing of a complete flight and navigation information to a pilot in 3D/2D graphical formats. The system covers training features as well.

3D/2D imaging

  • improvement of a pilot’s dimensional orientation in conditions of a combined terrain
  • alerting about possible collision with terrain, obstacles, as well as about encounter of prohibited and dangerous flight areas
  • a "hint" regarding joystick movements in order to ensure a given flight mode
  • an efficient failure management

The system’s database includes a digital terrain map, different electronic raster maps (or space images), as well as airdromes, prohibited and dangerous flight areas, obstacles, given flight paths. The operative database can be fulfilled by a user.

A standard interface of flight paths formation is used in order to plan flights. There also a training mode available.

The scientific foundation of the system is the following: realization of a pilotage method based on an aircraft guidance with the help of tracking and realization of algorithms complexing of all the sensors.
